What isthe UX1?
The Yamaha UX1 is a pre-loved 121 cm upright piano, built in Japan from 1982 to 1988 and imported to Melbourne by Signature Pianos. The X marks Yamaha's X-type back post, the timber frame behind the soundboard, set in an X. A slit tone escape lets sound out through the front of the case. Yamaha notes it was popular with intermediate and advanced players. It measures 121 cm tall, 150 cm wide and about 62 cm deep.
