What isthe U1M?
The Yamaha U1M is a pre-loved 121 cm upright piano, built in Japan from 1980 to 1982 and imported to Melbourne by Signature Pianos. It followed the long-running U1H and was made for just over two years, until the U1A took over. It measures 121 cm tall, 150 cm wide and 61 cm deep, with soft, muffler and damper pedals. The muffler lowers a strip of felt over the strings for quieter practice.
